Webinar - Electric Energy in the IoT Age

The next Digital Leaders Club conference welcomes David St-Germain, Vice President of Technology at Hilo, the Hydro-Quebec subsidiary preparing the province's energy transition.

Technologies and energy intelligence

The Internet of Things, data processing, artificial intelligence, coaching and automation: these are all tools for collectively meeting the challenges of decarbonization and the transition to energy mobility.

Building tomorrow's energy intelligence together

Fuel poverty is on our doorstep - "the end of plenty" Macron announced in August. How do we reconcile these notions with decarbonization and energy efficiency? The trend is toward electrification of transportation and industry, as well as distributed generation, storage and re-injection of electricity. The challenges and investments to get there are colossal: education, tooling, systems integration, consumption and production predictability, storage, behavioral changes... the list is long. How can we gradually order this ecosystem? How can we build together the energy intelligence of tomorrow?

Tools and technologies for collective awareness

Without the introduction of a new paradigm of tooling and technology to simplify this awareness, or support it, we are courting failure. At Hilo, we are trying to find solutions to these problems at the convergence of IoT, data processing, artificial intelligence, coaching and automation products. In this talk, we will discuss energy management automation, i.e. how to access, structure and potentially process relevant data to optimize the efficiency of electrical networks. We will try to popularize the concepts of virtual power plant and energy coaching by drawing on Hilo's experience in the field.
